
Arjun Prasad Joshi

Arjun Prasad Joshi was born in Kushma Municipality-4, Shivalaya, Parbat District. He completed his school-level education up to Grade 10 at Narayan Secondary School, Kushma. He then pursued higher studies at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara, graduating in Humanities, and later earned a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Central Department, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur.
Joshi became politically active during his student life and also briefly engaged in teaching. Returning to his home district, he led the Nepali Congress as the District President from 1991 to 2007, serving for 16 years. During his leadership, he was elected as Member of Parliament from Parbat Constituency-1 in the 1999 general election. He was again directly elected from the same constituency in the 2008 Constituent Assembly election and re-elected in the 2013 Constituent Assembly election.
Having been elected three times from Parbat, Joshi has made commendable contributions to both the democratic struggle and the development of his district.
