
Gyanendra Bikram Mahat

Gyanendra Bikram Mahat was born in Gijan, Modi Rural Municipality-6, Parbat District. He studied up to Grade 5 at Tuloday Primary School in his village and completed his SLC from Soldiers Board Vocational High School, Pokhara. He then pursued Intermediate and Bachelor’s degrees at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara.
Mahat entered Nepal Police as an Inspector and later pursued a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Central Department, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, while serving in the police force. Over the years, he served in various important capacities, ultimately being promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
After retirement, Mahat has been actively involved in social and religious institutions. He currently serves as the Chief Advisor of Devghat–Maulakali Temple in Chitwan, and as an Advisory Patron and Executive Member of the Patanjali Yoga Committee, Nepal. His contributions to both the nation and his home district Parbat, during and after his police career, are widely appreciated.
