Background
The number of people from Parbat district living permanently or temporarily in Kathmandu for education, employment, politics, and business has been steadily increasing. Over the years, many residents of Parbat have migrated not only to Kathmandu but also to various districts of the Terai, other cities of Nepal, and across the world. Despite being spread out, these communities have always remained emotionally connected to their birthplace and continue to show their commitment to serving their homeland.
In this context, many Parbat residents have formed local associations, professional groups, party-affiliated forums, and municipality-level communities in Kathmandu. While respecting the contributions of these organizations, the need for a unified institution that could bring together all Parbat residents—whether in Kathmandu, Nepal, or abroad—was strongly felt. With this vision, Parbat Samaj was established as a common platform to unite Parbat residents, foster cooperation, and contribute collectively to the district’s development and welfare.
