About
Ashok Poudel is a Founding Lifetime Member and Executive Committee Member of Parbat Samaj and has been actively engaged in the field of journalism for over 15 years. He was born in Kushma Municipality–3, Durlung, Parbat, and is currently residing at Budhanilkantha–13, Chunikhel, Kathmandu. At present, he serves as the Editor of Khabar Sewa Online, where he continues to contribute to responsible, research-based, and public-interest journalism.
In terms of academic background, Mr. Poudel completed his S.L.C. from Kafalchaur Secondary School, Durlung, and his Grade 12 from Pashchimanchal Higher Secondary School, Pokhara. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and English from Madan Bhandari Memorial College, Kathmandu, followed by a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Tribhuvan University. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Political Communication at Shenzhen University, China, further strengthening his expertise in political discourse and media studies.
Alongside journalism, Ashok Poudel has remained actively involved in social and institutional initiatives since moving to Kathmandu from Parbat. He also brings significant experience in public communication, having served as the Press Advisor to Honorable Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament of Nepal, from Chaitra 2074 to Chaitra 2080 (B.S.). His professional journey reflects a strong commitment to journalism, political communication, and public service, making him a respected figure in both media and civic spheres.
